Matthew Schmid – Executive Director
Matthew’s upbringing on a northeastern Ohio farm instilled in him a strong sense of community and leadership. Engaging in various activities such as 4-H, FFA, and Youth Group, he honed his leadership skills from a young age. A driven and results-oriented individual, Matthew possesses exceptional technical abilities and a knack for problem-solving. His extensive experience spans team-building, workforce management, virtual education, quality performance coaching, technical support, and network administration. Beyond his technical expertise, Matthew is deeply passionate about supporting others, with a proven track record in nonprofit creation and administration, as well as board development and management. Matthew is married to Christoph Schmid and enjoys partnering with Churches from the United States, Germany, and Portugal!

Matthew’s pursuit of knowledge remains steadfast, evidenced by his recent achievement of graduating with honors from Liberty University in 2021, where he obtained a BS in Religion. Matthew is furthering his education by pursuing a Master of Divinity at MTSO (The Methodist Theological Seminary of Ohio). In addition to his academic endeavors, he obtained a certificate in addiction studies from Columbus State Community College. Intentionally diversifying his educational background by attending both conservative and liberal institutions, Matthew seeks to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of diverse perspectives. One of his primary aspirations is to serve as a unifying force between the church and LGBTQ communities, emphasizing the importance of empathy and understanding in fostering reconciliation. As he aptly states, “You cannot reconcile anything if you fail to understand both sides.”
In addition to serving as the team’s Executive Director, Matthew dedicates his full-time efforts to program performance management. He eagerly anticipates the future of TRM, confident in his ability to effectively and adeptly oversee this initiative.
